“I think I’m hungry,” I say before checking the inside of Kai’s office, yet walking in.

Two silhouettes catch the corner of my eye.

Alejandro sits at Kai’s desk while Francisco stands not far from him, lifting his eyes from his phone.

A mischievous grin glints in Alejandro’s eyes.

A satisfied smirk creases Francisco’s lips.

Both wear suits and ties, Alejandro sporting a crisp grapefruit pink shirt, a charcoal gray suit, and a silver tie with small pink stripes.

The colors set off his tanned complexion, dark eyes, and hair.

He looks like he’s spent some time in the sun.

Francisco wears a dark suit with a slight sheen to it, a mint green dress shirt, and a light gray tie with pale green stripes. They both look dashing, belonging on the cover of a fashion magazine.

What’s with these men and their ties with stripes today? Have they conferred about coordinating their looks?

“Hi,” I say in a clipped tone, freezing in the middle of the room.

Their eyes go simultaneously down and up over my body.

My insides melt, but I hold myself well, concealing any reaction.

“Are you here for him?” I ask, trying to kill my nerves. “Where is he?” I continue, glancing around the room.

“He’ll be here in a moment,” Francisco says, sliding his phone into his pocket and closing the gap between us.

“Congratulations,” he says in his sexy as hell accent, opening his arms and pulling me into a hug.

He is like a tropical ocean draped around me, coming to me with a scent of pure, sublime masculinity.

He smells fresh, his skin kissed by the sun, a stark contrast to the family of grays painting Manhattan.

His blue-green eyes speak in poems as he lets his gaze dive into mine.

“Beautiful as ever,” he murmurs, studying my face. “It suits you,” he tosses at me casually. “And, um… I’m happy that you have accepted our proposal.”

I stiffen a little.

Our proposal? Yes.

The money is theirs. I can’t pin it on Kai Walker alone. And they knew what they were doing when they insisted on contributing as well.

No problem.

I’ll take their money and have the time of my life.

I give him a small smile before leaning into his chest, bringing my fingers to his face and murmuring in his ear.

“The pleasure is all mine.”

Slowly, I trail his jawline with my breath and lips, inhaling his fragrant scent.

He stops my hand from pulling away from his face and kisses my fingers, his eyes locked with mine.

Alejandro witnesses the scene.

“You two should get a room,” he tosses at us, not even pretending that he is not jealous.

Francisco and I don’t break our stare.

His cheeks are flushed while his lips are parted, and his eyes hold the warm playfulness of a smile.

“We’ll get one. Don’t worry,” he retorts when the door to the bathroom opens, and Kai walks in, raking his fingers through his hair.

He catches sight of us as we both take a step away from each other and turn to face him.

A shadow flits through his gaze, but he suppresses it swiftly, reading our faces and flashing a smirk.
